A Broken Heart

2017. The year my heart broke. And although it has mended since, a part of it will forever remain missing. Life is full of so much love, and the consequence of something so precious unfortunately is loss. It is the Ying to the Yang. Balance of the cosmics?
Whatever it is, it leaves a gap in your life.
The absence of a loved one claws a gaping hole in your heart which is never really filled. Some types of love is just irreplaceable. You subconsciously try to fill it with new beautiful memories, but your heart refuses. It chooses to expand to home the new characters in your story. However, as it expands, the hole is stretched as you realise these important moments are created without them being present. Instead, your imagination draws up a story about how that person would be involved in such important days. The words they would share to comfort you, the humour they would bring to ease your worries, the handmade morsels they would force feed you during the late nights of entertaining, the time they would spend travelling just to see a glimpse of you as you are running around with last minute errands, the effort they would make to simply be present. Watching you take one of the biggest and scariest steps you will ever take. The step she teased you of your entire life.
Sitting in a beautiful blush saree, besides ammu and sassi.
She would be gleaming at me with absolute pride.

Blame Culture

Yet, why are our flaws brushed away and found to be deflected on to others? I have witnessed many to turn blind on..
